Lost track of the day and night. Its the weekend and apparently the new term starts in 2 days time. And we have yet to submit previous semester's work next Thursday. Sounds really complicated but one thing for sure is archit(or)ture is just NEVER ENDING.

Definitely have to party next weekend after submission before everything starts piling up again!!

Lovely breakfast date with dear Penang mates this morning. Was really hard to move my lazy bump off the bed early in the morning, 10am, not that early actually, for breakfast but yeah, it's definitely great to see the morning sun!! And the town is creepily quite today, all must have flocked to Anfield for the match between Liverpool and Man U but non of my business anyway.

So yeah, us and the lovely sun!! :)

It's crazy how time flies, or the fact that Chinese New Year is just in 2 days time, (1 days time in 2 minutes time here) and it scares me that the fact hasn't really hit me yet, about me missing all the Chinese New Year thrill and fun back home, and the fact of me not being home for the first time in 24 years, and to make matter seems more serious, THIS YEAR IS MY DRAGON YEAR! and also the fact that I am twenty four this year. Too much to handle, it's overwhelming!

Plus also, I'm currently in studio in the middle of the night (which makes Chinese New Year 初一 TOMORROW) alone, working for the final submission pin-up on Thursday. This just never ends. I guess it's all about appreciating the journey, one step at a time :)

Wait seems like I'm not done with my emo side yet, watching this touching clip alone in the cold definitely effortlessly heave the emotion within me. :'( :')

Okay back to work, will be having the left over soup from work as my 团圆饭 soup tomorrow. Quite sad lah!!!!! Aihs maximus.... Nevertheless, have a dashing awesome Dragon Year ahead everyone, it's my year, it will be great ;)

Thats new! Yeah believe it or not, my thumb muscle actually went cramp while I was busy clicking and pressing "command" with my thumb. I used to have leg muscle cramps very often when I was in secondary school with all the athletic practices - running, jumping etc, and now let me introduce - finger muscle cramp! Amazing.

Anyway, in the midst of preparing exams / presentations, the architecture students still manage to take time off for some SHOPPING BABY! Finally, the long awaited Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet after *calculate*.... 4 months! 4 months in Liverpool, finally I made it there! Initially I wasn't really keen in spending £4.70 for a 45 mins bus ride there but heck, after JiaLih shown me pictures of Burberry bags and Fossil watches etc I was like I HAVE TO GO THERE.

Us while waiting for the bus. No way we could have woken up at 7.45am, unless its for some event like shopping. Yes, very bersemangat it is.

Finally a after lengthy 45 mins plus bus ride, WE ARRIVED. And I was overwhelmed by the fact that Cheshire Oaks is actually an area with different buildings, and we braved through 1°C just for the sake of girls' favorite past time - shopping.

First stop - BURBERRY :)

Everything was at least 30% off, and the jeans costed only £29!

Have I mentioned that FCUK trench coats were reduced to £30 from £160.

Believe me, this bag wasn't there when we were there in the morning!! And apparently this stock came in on Thursday, which means if I were to go last weekend, I wouldn't have met it - fated you see ;)

I should be doing some work now but I'm just so distracted by so many little things around me, especially cute ones. Finished booking accommodation and train tickets for the upcoming Spring break and believe it or not, London and Paris again! :) Moreover, another thing that is distracting me is Cheshire Oaks Factory Outlet's final reduction! Burberry at 50% - HOW TO RESIST!?!?!?!

So its not the end of the world yet :)

Crazy how time flies and 2012 has sneaked in before we gather our thoughts to welcome this brand new year. Looking back it is bizarre that I haven't posted a single entry in the month of December. *gasp* Must be the crazy rushing-for-assignments/presentation/traveling etc? This is when photographs come in very handy. The invention of the camera is such a blessing for people like me who is a very forgetful person. Was clicking through lightroom (best-photo-editing-program-ever) and was shocked by how many pictures I've taken through the year- 35k pictures. Yes and I'm not even kidding. That amount does not include the pictures taken in Barcelona (coz they are stored in a different hard disc) So now let me do the math, 35k pictures + another 5k for Barcelona and London Christmas trip + a little of Paris = 40k pictures for the year 2011.

40,000 pictures / 365 days a year = Average 110 pictures a day

I am amazed myself. *applause*

I must admit the enthusiasm in blogging has been drained through time, maybe it's because I'm just becoming plain busy, or maybe Facebook has finally taken its toll. Okay maybe I'm just plain lazy but I don't think thats the case coz I'm a really busy person, busy with projects traveling hanging out with friends and now a part-time job darn I need 48 hours a day or evolve into a person who only needs 7 hours sleep a day, preferably less but still look as fresh as a daisy blah blah blah okay nevermind.

Have I mentioned that we have only 1 hour lecture for the whole week? Yes you heard me right. So you must be thinking why on earth are we Masters students so busy?! Well the answer is simple, we are expected to be in the studio from 9am-5pm everyday. This course is mainly structured with group works for most of the assignments which is why we are encouraged to work in studio everyday for easy communication amongst the group mates. Well, not complaining :)

Dear Future Me.

Well I'm pretty sure at the point when I'm reading this, it will be the future me, be it the next couple of second, minute, hour, day, week, or year. I doubt there is anyone left who is bothered to read this space of mine, therefore I shall from now onwards sort of well, talk to myself :) hah! My own little personal space which I will eventually laugh at myself for whatever nonsensical stuff that I've blogged, for example now? To be honest, I have no particular thing I want to blog about, or maybe there are too many awesome things happening around me, or maybe I'm just taking everything negative to something positive? Something that is worth celebrating is the approved PR application (not myself), at least now another secured platform is built, one step at a time :)

And also my ARCH 401 design was chosen by my team mates to be brought forward for ARCH402, where we were to develop the chosen design to something feasible and buildable. Definitely feel honored and happy to have my design chosen! Hopefully we will execute for this group project! ;) I must say, a year out working (15 months to be exact) has indeed build and nurture me into someone more mature, at least for the field of architecture. Til now, I still feel blessed to land myself in one of prestigious Uni in UK to continue my Masters, especially when everyone says that it is impossible to continue Masters in the UK if we take our undergrads in the University of Melbourne (outside UK). Oh well, action speaks louder than words, and nothing is impossible as long as we keep the will and faith burning. Currently working on another group project, ARCH407 Construction and Management for passive design research to make a report. Surprisingly, I find it quite fun (besides being undeniably educational) and never had I felt this thrill while gaining knowledge because I know if I were to study about this without a year out gaining experience, I would definitely fret about this assignment, grumble and agitated by the fact that we have to do this lousy crap assignment because I used to think Architect just have to draw and visualize and let the structural engineer work things out (?!). However for now, I take it as an assignment which broadens our knowledge in architecture which will be very useful when we spread our wings to be an Architect. Yeah, I think I will want to be an Architect one day. Long way still to go. Again, one step at a time.

Have I mentioned that traveling in the UK is AWESOME? Loving the train system here, convenient and efficient. Spent my weekend at Glasgow which is of course enjoyable, and I am loving my Country Road travel bag (yes the one that everyone is using in Australia) which acts as my TRAVEL PILLOW. Love the fact that the train is not always full, which enables us to occupy 2 seats and all I have to do is put my Country Road and one end and spread my legs to another seat. Well, if you can imagine. And the fact that the train station is within walking distance to where I'm living, awesomeness. Bought my ticket to London for Christmas, yes BOXING DAY gaga oohlala which only costed £7.60 and the Eurostar ticket to Paris from London £84 return ticket. Now you know the reason why we choose to save and TRAVEL here!! And have you soaked in the fact that 2011 is coming to an end?! I haven't even get used to writing 2011 yet whenever I write dates and now 2012 is approaching! Just in case it is the end of the world, I want to tell everyone, live life to the fullest!

Alright Monday tomorrow, but there's no class. Yes first I have Friday off and now Monday as well, but everyday is working day for us architecture students. Notice I no longer spell architecture as architOrture? hehehehe well for now! So it has been about a month since I moved to a city halfway around the globe. Blessed to have met a group of Malaysians when I was cooking my Tomyam Instant noodles Joe recommended me to buy during our Bangkok trip. I remembered that day, the horrendous-dejavu-no-credit-card-ticket-not-valid-crap-in-"reminiscent"-to-what-happened-to-SIA-air-ticket-from-Melbourne-to-Penang, almost 2 years ago, which-my-London-to-Liverpool-train-ticket-I-bought-is-no-longer-valid-oh-never-mind. Walking down the street looking for a pot to cook my maggie with an empty stomach was definitely not pleasing, not until I bumped into the shopping street, Church street H&M, Primark, River Island, Topshop and all the other wonderland. Anyway enough of shopping craps and back to the topic, no doubt the bunch of them are all younger than me! In fact, they are all younger than me by 2 to 5 years, the horror. Being the youngest in the office and being pampered for a year definitely bulge in the hard time getting used to being the oldest. But it definitely brings back the enthusiasm I used to have. And look how much I've changed. The age is indeed kicking in I must say! However, life here is surprisingly better than I expected. Met a few amazing individuals and slowly getting used to the accent and lifestyle and diving back into architecture studio, yes designing again! Besides, staying just 2 minutes away from Architecture faculty has made studio my second home, since we Masters students are expected to be in studio from 9am-5pm@@ Nevertheless, to own a room to myself? bliss! :) There'll be a final crit next week for our first project, I made myself a promise I'll make myself a laser cut model, and I finally did it today! Never expect working a whole day in the creative workshop can be this draining! But it is definitely worth it to bask in satisfaction once the model is done. *syok sendiri* Alright, no pictures here since Facebook is doing all the post-the-picture-job now :) Have a great day ahead everyone. Oh well, it has been a while since the last time I talk to myself (?!?!) hah! Since the last post many have been happening. Had my last few days in Singapore with plenty of gatherings, saying goodbye is never easy. Back to beloved home sweet Penang for a little break and I almost forgot the awesome feeling of being home. 2 and 1/2 weeks passed by swiftly and before I know it, off I am to a place halfway round the globe. Still adapting the new life here. Met some new 'instant' friends while cooking 'instant' noodles. hah! Getting nervous being back to Architorture course, the sleepless nights and now without anyone to share the zombie-sleepless-fatigue-ness-horror-or-whatever-you-call-it. Okay la, not used to blogging anymore. Will try to blog more often and all the best to me!

Next day, off to Liverpool. 2 hours 15 min train ride with my 30kg + 20kg++ stuff finally shifted up to my hostel (without lift) after 30 minutes. Registered etc and now there are still a few items to be ticked. But so far so good. And surprisingly I am not grumbling things over here are expensive, but to be honest, they are quite cheap! Okay, I should put it as - reasonably priced!

Chilly weather! The bliss of layering fashion is back! :)

Breakfast..

As you would have known (through my previous post), breakfast has been one of the priority for me ways to start the day. Well, not like I do have a list of to-do's for me to start my day eg. I don't shower but I do brush my teeth once I jump out of bed so fret not you can still talk to me when you see me first thing in the morning ;) Alright back to the breakfast topic, today since it's a Sunday, we wanted to have a proper breakfast to start the day. Nic-the-sweet-tooth-b had a craving for waffles and honey and after much contemplation and online searching weather to go back to trusty-breakfast-all-day-Wild Honey or McD/ KFC Breakfast which was already too late since it was almost noon time, we decided to trust the Singapore Online Food Review in going to "Cottage Waffle Place @ Suntec City Mall" after we typed in the key words "Singapore Waffle breakfast". It's located at Suntec City and everyone knows how far it takes to walk from Citihall Station to Suntec City! After 20 minutes walk, finally we reached the destination. Old dodgy rough brick finish with scribbles from customer, which gave us the impression that the waffles should be good since the whole wall is filled with colourful sticky notes from customers. We placed our order and the waffles are served in a tiny plate + knife and fork. We tried slicing the waffle to no avail because the waffle was too tough. Fine, we just bite it instead of slicing into bite size to eat it. We paused with disappointment. The coffee and tea was served which unfailingly disappointed us too. I'm not a coffee person but according to Nic, the coffee is sour (?!) scary. Thus, our lousy breakfast :(

Okay enough of the ranting on a Sunday and now I've decided NOT TO TRUST SINGAPORE ONLINE FOOD REVIEWS!! It has been more than once since we have been tricked and these incidents have triggered me to CREATE MY OWN FOOD REVIEW!.It has been more than a year since I am in Singapore and I reckon with my taste buds I won't go wrong with food! The price will range from good-old-hawker-center-delicacies to not-so-reasonably-priced-restaurant's-exquisites. Quite excited to share my food experience in Singapore. Do stay tuned! :P

P/s: The electric piano is finally alive again after 3 months! Just a simple replacement of the adaptor which only costs $59 and finally my fingers can tickle the keyboard again! :) Loads of practice needed to remove the rusts from my fingers.

Tatt's One Day Trip to Singapore :)

Tatt has been saying Singapore is super near to JB, even nearer than going to Penang Island from BM. I wasn't convinced until that day when I was on my way back to Singapore by bus from KL and my oh my, I was shocked that the bridge connecting Malaysia and Singapore is only uhm, 5 minutes drive? 20% the length of Penang bridge maybe. So anyway, Tatt came over to Singapore today for a short-and-sweet-family-Saturday.

Off for Harry Potter 7.5 at 10am at Lido iMax Theatre at Shaw House. Thanks jee ee and Jee teow for the free movie tickets invite. Very sentimental final Harry Potter movie after 10 years. Looking back when 3 of them were still young, I cannot imagine how I looked 10 years back. I was only entering secondary school with my-nerd-mushroom-headback then?! Tatt came over to Orchard just in time for lunch.

Time is ticking really fast. Monday to Friday and the weekend is gone just by a blink of the eye. I realized I have been complaining a lot about how time flies lately. Blame me not coz that's how I feel. When Monday is here, I wish the weekend will come sooner, and talking about me making a fuss about time flying, I realized I'm actually contradicting myself; complaining time flies, but actually wanting time flies so that weekend will come. The irony huh@@" Lesson of the day: Appreciate everyday and treat everyday like it's TGiFriday, Saturday, Sunday! Afterall, there is no point worrying about tomorrow because "yesterday is history, tomorrow is mystery, today is a gift, that's why it's called PRESENT." my all-time-favourite-quote. :) Talking about appreciating every moment, it shall start now, this very second, set the priorities right and keep the engine rolling~

Was sorting out photos from hard disc to transfer to my yummy-juicy-apple and I realized I have been traveling a lot for the past 2 years! Must have been bitten by the travel bug. Haven't been posting a proper travel post since last year Shanghai and Hong Kong trip. Barcelona, Bandung and Japan trip tailing behind.

I came to realize that it will be my final 2 months in Singapore. It's true when they say humans don't appreciate something until it's gone. Well at least it's not gone yet for me. My past weekends have been packed with activities and even my weekdays after work is no longer taken lightly. It is sad to accept the fact that I'll be leaving this place where I have grown academically and emotionally. Life goes on. Just keep everything in a positive note!

It scares me how time flies and suddenly we realize that chances come and go, it's the matter of how you appreciate everytime when we are together. Tatt boy is currently back in the beloved ~home sweet home~ for winter break or some-other-long-awesome-breaks-that-normal-students-have, which made me realize chances are getting really scarce for us to be reunited as one big family, and how working life has actually devoured my precious youth! Gosh! I have actually been working for a year now! And how old I am already? What have I achieved? What is the purpose of working? To earn a living? or for the passion within? I am sure as time goes by, every individual will be lost in transition, what used to be passion becomes mundane and monotonous. Gahh... Nevertheless, I feel very grateful to be part of my company, 2 company trips - August 2010 to Shanghai and April 2011 to Barcelona. For being able to enjoy these benefits in a short 12 months is considered a very fortunate thing. And in a blink it's now June of year 2011. Both Tatt and Yang have left the nest and spread their wings. As I said, scarce chance for us to be reunited as one big family as we grow old, and with me going off hopping to a place halfway around the globe in a few months time, all I can say is - appreciate our loved ones around us everyday.

In a less emo tone, the 3 of us decided to have a little dance-all-night-til-the-break-of-dawn-night-out to break the working cycle.

Last weekend was hectic. woke up earlier than weekday-working-days.

Saturday for site visit on our completed office job before (BB's x2)Q at Labrador Park and impromptu outing to the zoo with the sisters on Sunday morning before going off to PC show to just check out the price and who knows I actually ended up walking back with my long-awaited-yummy-apple!!!!!!

It is still over-whelming to accept the fact that I'm currently using this chic yummy silver apple.

Fortunately the past year working has familiarized me with the Mac system, and now for me to use this apple is like a piece of apple cake.

Alright, there will be lots of updates from now onwards since I no longer have to share the personal computer with the sister anymore :P and personal computer is named that way for a reason ;)

Will start to download whatever programmes and softwares required soon before I dive back into the architorture world. Surprisingly I actually prefer working life better than studying life, but what needs to be done has to be done, it may be a long and winding road but I believe everything will be gratifying in the end, but hey, I am actually enjoying every moment now, nothing to rush, one step at a time ♥

Oh wow, how long have I not sat down quietly and really blog?
Life is good. I am thankful for everything that has been happening.

I can't believe it's already June 2011, half of the year has gone just by a blink of the eye.
Year 2011 has given me the ups and downs and if I were to recall what ups and downs and give them a percentage, I would conclude with 99% ups and 1% down. Or in fact, I should give it a 100% for ups! Remember only the good ones and give the bad ones a smug, and believe everything happens for a reason, for the better :) Taking everything with a positive attitude is the key to happiness and hey, life is about being happy and taking chances, and living it to the fullest. There is no use looking back to the past and regret for whatever that has not lived up to your standard, look at what we have now and multiply it with abundance of joy and joy will keep coming back to you for more.

One of my favourite quotes which is from KungFu Panda (KungFu Panda 2 is super funny/awesome/entertaining!!!),

"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is mystery, TODAY is a gift, that is why it is called PRESENT."

Everything is slowly falling into place, just a little sprinkle of patience does wonders.

Life is good. going through the ups and downs have brought me to being a stronger person today. Nobody says life is meant to be easy, but it's meant to be enjoyable. No matter if it's the happy times or hard times, we should always face life in a positive tone and cherish everything that has happened or is gonna happen, believe things actually happen for a reason and just make the best out of everything. Appreciation is the key :)

~March~ the month to ~March~ into abundance of joy, indeed!
Strings of good news. My previous hard work has finally paid off. I still remember when choosing to continue Bachelor in Melbourne, taking the risk of having the degree in Melbourne before applying Masters in UK. Mostly said it's not possible/quite hard/different systems/ might need to retake if transfer from Aus to UK coz of the different systems etc but woollah! Nothing is impossible, if there's a will, there's a way, never give up and keep the faith within ♥ Lucky me,or rather, lucky ~mee and dee~, the AUD currency was low during the year when I was there (1AUD= RM 2.3 instead of 1AUD = RM3 now! @@) And considering Pounds is quite reasonable now, please stay low when I'm there! September seems so far yet so near, I came to realize that I will have only 4 months+ left in Singapore. Mixed feeling which is combined by the different aspects and all I can do is be positive! Everything will be just fine. Before that, will be a glimpse of Europe this coming Spring. Or izit Spring already?? :D Off to Barcelona in 3 weeks time. Gonna have a ZARA/ Mango/ Pull & Bear Frenzy there? And who can confirm that the VAT tax claim is actually 18%??? Crazy lot of percentage that is!

Anyway finally, here goes To Zanarakand - FFX.

First Christchurch, now Japan. Looking at the videos of the black liquid engulfing the city, it's more convincing that 2012 is actually gonna happen. (???) A lot of question marks, how different will people lead their lives if they are warned that the end of the world is near? Will we continue doing what we are doing? Or will we put whatever we are doing now at halt and do something else that we actually like? What is the drive of life? What is the objective of living?

We are all fragile beings, any point of time our lives can be taken away. We should appreciate everything we have before it's too late, don't judge, forgive and forget, for life is too short for all those nonsense!

What do you see when you look into your own future?

What do you want to see?

TO help you find out, here are 30 questions I recommend you ask yourself frequently - to make sure you have a clear picture of the exact future you would like to create. Answer each one of the questions with a description of the picture you'l most like to see. When you answer, be as descriptive and as detailed as you can. (That's how you create focus.)

When you answer these 30 questions, you could go just a year or two years into your future, or even 5 years or more - any future date you'd like to look at. But for now, we're going to go to today's date, exactly two years from today? From this moment, what would you most want to see?

30 Questions About Your Future 2 Years from Today:

What is your job, or what are you doing as your vocation?
Where do you spend your daily "work" time; that is, what is your physical environment? (Home, office, in your car, on the beach...)

Gosh, I literally typed that all out and while reading, and I am feeling nauseous now. Visualizing to realize it? Or izit unnesecary worrying? Should I Regain my senses and suffer for 30 minutes or even one hour to answer all those questions? It should be worth it?

Week after week, you'd be fine-tuning the focus of the lens through which you see your own future. In doing that, your picture would become clearer and clear. Goal-setting would come easily to you, because you'd know exactly what you want. Eventually, you'd know exactly what you needed to do - and every step to take.)

Your Best Possible Future Begins

the Moment You See it Clearly

To do this, you have to spend time on yourself. But you're worth it, and it's one of the most valuable ways you'll ever spend your time. Talk about your future. Think about it. Tell yourself what you like and what you don't like. Share the picture of your future with trusted friends - those who are supportive - and each time you do, see the picture a little more clearly.

To do this well, you have to take the time to do it - you have to devote this important time to yourself. That's not self-cenetered - that's essential! Focus in life, for any of us, doesn't come by accident. Everyone, without exception, who has found their focus, has had to take the time to do it.

What You Really Want?

A lot of people, even after they work on it for a short while, still aren't sure what their focus should be. Don't worry if you just can't see it yet/ Finding what you want is a "skill" as well as an experience of exploration, and you have to practice. The more you work at it, the better you'll get.

I know people who haven't spent a solid hour of figuring out what they really wanted out of life since they sat down for 20 minutes with their guidance counselor in highschool.

The more you sit down with yourself now, or with people you trust who believe in you, and keep asking yourself the same questions, the more the answers will come to you. Give it time; they WILL come.

If You Really Want to Have an Incredible Future

- There's One More Thing You Have to Do.

The final step in making sure you find your focus - and your fulfillment - is to daydream. That's right. Do exactly what people told us to stop doing when we were kids.

Daydream a lot. everyday. Daydream any chance you get - like on the way to work, or while you're relaxing in the bath, or just before you go to sleep at night, or anytime you have a few minutes with your own thoughts. Go for it! Dream! Visualize that you can have anything you can imagine. Have the time of your life. You should. When you're daydreaming about your future, you're creating the time of your life.

And don't worry about overdoing it. Just keep daydreaming. Dreams - the kind of dreams you dream when you're awake - have a way of turning into goals, AND THEN INTO PLANS, and then INTO ACTION. Daytime dreams, visited often, have a way of coming true.

Ask yourself the question, "Who am I really, and what do I really want?" Write it on a card and carry it with you. Ask the question over and over - Who am I really, and what do I want? You might surprise your self when, soon after you've begun doing that, you start to get some answers. And then, one day, out of no where, the answers jumps out at you, and you realize, "That's who I am, and that's what I want!" After that, you may find that actually getting there is the easy part.

Learnt from the in-house-Japanese-chef-Jia! ;)

3 eggs, shoyu, Japanese flavouring - dashi (recommended), 1 tbs of sugar, 1/2 tbs salt does all the trick!

1. A thin layer of egg.

2. Roll it up when the layer is cooked.

3. Continue the process of pouring thin layer of the mixture and rolling over when cooked.

TADAHHH!!!

Just started reading the book today. 1 hour read everyday, 30 minutes MRT ride one way if only I have another pair of eyes to be able to walk and read! The habit of reading has developed since living in Singapore. Access to limitless resource of books in the libraries plus it's a must to have a library in every area by the government make Singapore a very conducive place for living and learning. And not to mention the easy book-drop-chutes located strategically at nooks and corners of the city enable books to be returned conveniently. Partly because we have nothing much to do during MRT rides, people watching in Singapore is quite boring and it's rude to stare, might as well do something that is more constructive.
