'You have the most amazing life in front of you!
No matter where you've been, who you are, or what you've done with your life up to now,
your life, from today on, is just the beginning.'
Exhilarating to be greeted with this first paragraph from the book, The Gift, from the 1st chapter;
The Gifts that Make Your Dreams Come True.
'It doesn't really make any difference what you've done in your job or career, how much education you have, what problems you've had in the past, or how much money you have in the bank. The only thing that counts is that you are you, right now, today - and you were born to live an incredible life. A life that is filled with promise and potential. You were born to be the best of yourself, and to bring that "self" to life.
If you choose to live up to the promise you were born with, you have the chance to do that. You get to dream - and you get to make your dreams happen. You get to be the "you" that you were born to be in the first place.'
I love how they phrase the sentense where everyone is given chance,
everyone has a choice.
Just started reading the book today. 1 hour read everyday, 30 minutes MRT ride one way if only I have another pair of eyes to be able to walk and read! The habit of reading has developed since living in Singapore. Access to limitless resource of books in the libraries plus it's a must to have a library in every area by the government make Singapore a very conducive place for living and learning. And not to mention the easy book-drop-chutes located strategically at nooks and corners of the city enable books to be returned conveniently. Partly because we have nothing much to do during MRT rides, people watching in Singapore is quite boring and it's rude to stare, might as well do something that is more constructive.
It's Friday tomorrow! TGIFriday sure come fast this week!

Live life to the fullest and 知足长乐
As must as how I'm happy with everything now, I'm still not there yet so I'm still striving for the best.
Contradicting it may sound but I guess that's life, we have our ups and downs and it's about standing up when we fall.
"We learn wisdom from failure much more than from success; we often discover what will do, by finding out what will not do; and probably he who never make a mistake never made a discovery."
Samuel Smiles
"A life spent in making mistakes is not only more honourable but more useful than a life spent doing nothing."
George Bernard Shaw
"If you're not making mistakes, then you're not doing anything. I'm positive that a doer makes mistakes."
John Wooden
"Correction does much, but encouragement does more."
Goethe
"To avoid criticism do nothing, say nothing, be nothing."
Elbert Hubbard
The last one sounds really sarcastic, me likey!
So, everyone, go for it, go for the life you want, be the one that takes charge and do the mistakes, because
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
Mark Twain.
